The Saponification pan is a hemispherical vessel. The bottom of the pan is made of thick steel plates. The bottom of the pan is heated by means of fire wood or by means of diesel burners. The boiling mixture is stirred by means of crutches. Because of direct heating, soap mixture is to be continuously stirred. Care should be taken that the soap does not stick to the bottom. If the soap sticks to the bottom it may get burnt. This is a manual process and requires continuous stirring.
